This new parking deck serves the university’s new South Village, which features student housing and a new dining hall, and replaced the surface lots that were lost due to adjacent construction projects. Construction of the deck required close coordination and scheduling with nearby projects and specifically the Regional Utility Plant 4 construction, which shares common structural components. The construction schedule was closely managed, as the project was critical to supporting the parking needs in the South Village development plan.

The structure consists of cast-in-place concrete columns, post tensioned beams, and slabs on form deck, while the exterior walls feature precast panels with thin brick. The deck also includes two structural precast stair towers, and elevator tower, and canopies.

A comprehensive site work package is part of the project and included demolition of the existing parking lot on the project site and extensive excavation, along with utilities, paving, segmental retaining walls, and landscaping.
