Donley’s Northeast Ohio concrete division was responsible for all of the concrete form design and fabrication for this one-of-a-kind structure, the Peter B. Lewis Building. We designed and built the custom formwork using 3D AutoCAD files in order to fit the profiles of the design team. Advanced Total Station Technology was utilized to download CAD designs directly to field engineers for precise horizontal location of all concrete elements. By designing and fabricating all specialty forms in-house and electronically communicating designs directly to the field, Donley’s avoided miscommunication, eliminated problems, and maintained quality control while speeding up the total design, fabrication, and placement process.

Designed by noted architect Frank Gehry, the five-story Peter B. Lewis Building is home to Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and features faculty offices, classrooms, and meeting areas that are distributed on every floor to encourage informal interaction and complement the school’s learner-centered curriculums.
