Firestone Stadium – Historic Restoration and Expansion
Responsible for the general trades package, Donley’s work on Firestone Stadium – Historic Restoration and Expansion involved both renovation and new construction. Originally built in 1925, the renovation work included vertical masonry and concrete walkway restoration. The seating capacity was doubled to 2,400 through the construction of new bleacher sections. Amenities added to the area underneath the stands include:
- Home and visitor locker rooms complete with training facilities
- Umpire locker rooms
- Concession stands
- Team offices
- Public restrooms
A new scoreboard was also constructed and a major expansion to the Akron Amateur Softball Hall of Fame was included in the project.
